Or, why aren't you working on noobtown?

Writer's block mainly.  I have a beginning (done), a middle (done, and an end (working on it) but the connective tissues between the middle and the end were annoying the crap out of me so I slowed down to a crawl trying to get them in and up to standard.

So I stopped.  I'm taking 2 weeks off of noobtown and working on another project which brings me to the 10k a day challenge.

Back to noobtown and I'm getting the notes together for a new book.  Noobtown has crossed the 120k word spot and is moving closer to the 150k or so I typically do for a noobtown story.  I've got the false finale setup, now all I need to do is move the action back into Windfall for the final stretch.  That gives me about 15k words to play with before the final act.

Glory to Badgelor, my favorite little rabid snacker.  He's always fun to write for, especially when I get to have him suplex something.  Of course, Kaiju Badgelor's suplexes are world shaking, but that's what you get in the 8th book in a series.

Fifth Era 2 in Edits

So I submitted the first draft of fifth era over to Aethon's editor.  She loved it, of course, but also finished the edits in like 3 days meaning I'm supposed to get back to it and work on it.  

So I'm bouncing over there for a bit to finish up that book before I wriggle over to Noobtown again.  Trying to write funny war stuff is tricky, so I'm tending to have very dark scenes bookended by humorous bits.

I was hoping to crack 100k words this week, but it looks like that's next week's goal.  I've managed to get a number of key scenes tightened down and added a bunch of content in the middle to setup the third act of this book though.

I think I have everything in order now to get act three properly done, with the emotional gravitas it deserves.  Also Badgelor getting shot off of a catapult.

Mid Book revision

So about half way to two thirds of the way through my books i typically realize that I botched something earlier.  I missed a plot point, or I came up with something that expanded my outline and feel like exploring it.  Then I have to go back and rewrite.

I write for scenes.  I have glorious scenes plotted out in my head, and everything is just moving towards or away from that point.  This week I got to write the scene for one of the characters I plotted out when I introduced them as one of the high points of their character arc.  It was glorious.

Noobtown 8 progressed through the start and middle of the second Act.  I'm setting the stage for the final action of this arc of the story and so far it is shaping up to be quite impressive.

Right now I'm mainly waiting for several scenes to occur that I initially though of when I started writing Noobtown several years ago.  I envison scenes of particular note and then steer my stories towards them.
