Early spring shoot

The low sunlight coming in from the top of the brook gave excellent light to highlight the shapes of the body.

Early spring shoot

The low sun gave magical pockets of light through the leafless trees.

Early spring shoot

It wouldn't be for a long time after having these photos taken that I'd feel confident and assured enough to allow other people online to see photos with both my face and penis at once. What if they were saved? What if they were leaked? What if someone I knew saw them? Eventually I told myself that anyone looking for naturist photos online must be into naturism themselves and there's nothing shocking or wrong about a body simply being nude. So...

The luscious, big-leaved green rhododendrons framing the scene combined with the rich orange floor of fallen leaves always gives this place such a dramatically jurassic look.

Walking such a distance away from the photographer, and my bag and belongings, felt incredibly freeing.

The woodland belongs to what was once a grand country house and was evidently at one time a tended and planted space. Rhododendrons have been left to run wild, forming huge clouds of green leaves which provide interesting cover for a naked wanderer.

Meeting my fellow photographer was amusing in itself. He'd let me know he'd be around here at a certain time, and I said I "might" pop along. Once I'd decided to go for it, set off on my bike and arrived at the woods, pushing the bike in with me, I then thought how I should introduce myself. I'd seen the photographer naked in numerous Flickr photos, but he'd only seen perhaps a couple of me. In an unusual fit of confidence, I decided to dispen...

Sun and snow

While Kinder Scout was dusted with snow to resemble a distant mountain ridge, the blue skies and bright sunshine meant outdoor naturism was not just possible but enjoyable!

Fresh February

I acquired a cheap new hat and rucksack to complete the "naked hiker" look (boots on the way). At some point I'd also gone shaven - legs I'll never do again (eurk), but the rest feels surprisingly pleasant and certainly fresh, even if the boyfriend did give me some teasing at first.

Final furlong

And with that, my first season of outdoor nudity and amateur naturist photography came to a close. It would only be the beginning of the adventure...

Final furlong

It's always an enjoyably liberating feeling to be within sight of civilisation, yet still far enough away to disappear into the landscape.

New turf

An incredible misty sunrise. One of those magical moments where the scene changes every single second and you have to race to capture and enjoy it.

Wandering ways

Another favourite, still today, with my thanks to the farmer for the open gate and strategically placed hay bales!

Wandering ways

One of my favourites from my first year of wanderings, in fact still barely beaten! The hay bales, the trees framing, the sunlight casting across my body - I can't remember whether I really thought about it or if it was all a lucky coincidence!

The intensity of the dawn sunrise is truly invigorating.

Nature boy

These are some of my favourite photos in the way they make my body look at one with the natural surroundings. My boyfriend nicknamed me "nature boy" after he saw them!

Permanent way

Perhaps my favourite captures from that first year, a happy fluke of colour, light and composition.

As summer peaks, the grass gets ever longer and the sunrise seems to beat you to it.

Flash in the woods

Over the first summer, my confidence grew and grew. I felt totally at home in the woods.

Forest venture

A bridleway can give the added fun of being surprised at short notice by speeding downhill mountain bikers.

Forest venture

It was odd to think that the simple act of a man sitting on a man-made object could create such a new feeling of thrill.

Forest venture

I soon began to explore further afield, a large but popular forest seemed to offer opportunities to lose yourself amidst wonderful tree cover.

Second dawn

With sunrises like this, who needs clothes? One of my all-time favourites.

Second dawn

While big boots are necessary for many of my walks, I do love an  opportunity to wear trainers instead. The airy, spongy feeling heightens  your feeling of freedom and lightness even more.

Now where's my train?!

A new dawn

My first walk saw me cover over a mile in distance, naked all the way  from my back door. Despite starting before 5am, a jogger still managed  to surprise me from behind - but continued running past without a second  glance. It suddenly struck me that perhaps people can cope with a naked  body, and the adventure was only just beginning...

The warmth of the sun bursts over the horizon onto your bare skin. Life-affirming moments.

The first landmark on this former railway line is a magnificent bridge. I do love it when a (naked) human is dwarfed by our own creation.

A new dawn

I soon discovered that when you're in an unusual situation with adrenaline rushing, your eyes can play games with you. Was that a flash of a reflective helmet in the distance or a bird flying by? And if I did see movement ahead, should I soldier on or rush to jump into my shorts?
