I tried to come out and work on the coffin, probably 5+ times before I just stared at it and started crying. I don’t know why I am so emotionally invested in this prop. I know I have wanted to make it for years and I feel like I finally have the chance to do it, I really want to get it right. I keep second-guessing myself, taking steps back,...

The boss arrived

The men have finally decided to start listening to me. I asked them to create more of a structure to allow posing with weight-bearing purposes! And in doing so I feel that it has closed the coffin in significantly, which will give us more of a narrow petite feeling, which is what I wanted originally!

This has also created much more of a sound structure, so I am way more confident in all types of posing!

Ignore my trashy porch

I got the coffin painted today and tomorrow I’m gonna work on installing the padding and Velvet!

I’m so excited

Tomorrow I will be dedicating my entire morning to decorating this monster! She’s pretty big, much bigger than I anticipated, but I had two men working with me who refused to listen to my sizing advice. You know how men are with their measurements… anyways! I am extremely confident that once we put the padding and velvet inside of the coffin, things will start to come alive!

Please forgive my left handedness, but these are my two mock ups for potential locations/positioning of the coffin! For the first option, I picture it kind of laying down like a funeral home type vibe? On a table with some type of velvet tablecloth, perhaps?

Second option, it’ll be more like a shrine! There are pros to both options and cons to both options! I am really struggling with which I prefer

Part one

All of the large items needed to build the coffin prop are completed now we are returning the truck and then we are heading out to do the details. My FAVORITE part!
