Jude (How he came to be)

So it seemed only fitting that the first Gold Stag post related to WIP sprite development would be Jude related.

Our deer boy's concept was fairly straight forward to begin with. I had a strong vision of how I intended him to look which made his development a bit easier. We wanted him to be buff, but not impossibly thick, he still needed to maintain a reasonable belief that he is in fact a cervid outside of just the antlers.

I think the hardest part of Jude's design came down to the Antlers, the design of which is difficult, partially due to knowing that if we were to do full antlers at least a small section would have been cut off due to making him so impossibly tall.

Another challenge definitely was in the decision in just how large to make his penis. That being said, I'll leave it a surprise for now which one we went with. (For the sake of my own curiosity, I do wonder how big you all would've made it... maybe I'll have to reconsider if many opinions conflict with my own?)

One concern I do worry about with Jude's design is his dream catcher Tattoo. Early on we received a response on the feedback form in relation to Native American culture appropriation. While not easily avoidable, it is something I intended to approach more tactfully. That being said, I knew it was more likely to come up due to the tattoo's details not coming up until later in the story. (The stud does not like to open up.) However, it was always decided that the design be a dream catcher and over his heart, it's relevant to Jude's background and I wasn't going to be deterred.

This week is gonna be a good week to be a Golden Stag, as I'll be posting these each day until Friday.
