Hello everyone!
I'm going to talk to you about the future of the project and what I learned from the feedback on the prototype.
First of all, thank you very much to everyone who tested and sent messages on F95zone to encourage me and give me your personal opinions on the game.
Thanks to this, I have a clearer vision of what you'll like and how to greatly improve the gameplay for the next major update.
I'm going to make major changes to map generation, enemy types, and other systems like the clothing mechanics and the main character.
I'm working on a map generation system that will create pre-generated map chunks rather than a dungeon that generates itself piece by piece to avoid the bugs some have encountered.
However, this will still require testing by many people to ensure this method works well.
I'm also going to rework the clothing system.
Unfortunately, the current system is far too complex. I could write a huge bloc describing the complexity of this system and how to create high-quality renders that maintain the character's shape, but I won't bore you with that and will instead describe how I'm going to modify it.
Instead of obtaining a piece of clothing like panties or a dress, you will obtain either body or leg equipment.
Those equipments will be more difficult to loot, perhaps no longer in chests but from elite enemies or bosses.
The body equipment will be, for example, a maid costume, a chainmail bikini, or a corset and panties.
The leg equipment, will be, for example, thigh-high boots, fishnet stockings with high heels, or simply sandals.
This equipment will be looted and considered as a single item piece. Meaning there will be 2 slot for the character to equip.
This greatly reduces the clothing choices and combination, but it drastically reduces the workload I have to do to create clothes and code them in-game.
According to my initial tests, they will also be of higher graphic quality than the current ones.
Finally, I wanted to talk about the main character and the enemies.
I noticed that most players preferred monsters, orcs, and beastmen rather than humans.
And to be honest, I think humans are starting to bore me a little too.
So I decided to start creating the game's first dungeon, which will simply be a forest.
And I will remove all the humans and add beastmen (werewolves, bearmen, boarmen, and others) to start.
And so I come to the main character, I receive a lot of messages asking me if I will continue to use the Ingrid lookalike from my first game and I have the impression that there is always a little disappointment when I answer negatively, I understand that everyone loved her and I admit that it is also my favorite character.
In addition I have the impression that the current character did not make much effect on the community, that is why I will set up a poll asking you subscribers of SubscribeStar and Patreon if you would like me to replace the current character with the Ingrid lookalike or leave the current character.
I will have to recreate the renders for the new character if you choose the Ingrid lookalike but it should not take me more than a week.
You'll be able to see a sketch of what she would look like with the new style that I have been using since chapter 2 of my comic, of course, it is not as good as in my first game but you know the reasons why I chose this new style.
I managed to achieve a dark skin tone without it looking too weird, which I've struggled with with this style until now.
