I don’t remember seeing this episode, actually, which is rare for me.
Fernando and Romie are looking for a new home, and it looks like they have three kids (They don’t say the number specifically, but in one scene I saw three - two boys and one girl, I’m pretty sure.). Okay then. Can’t wait to see how this turns out.
- The answer is not well.
- Nevermind, they have four kids (Fourth is an older daughter.).
Sure, let’s check out the run-down house with overgrown weeds. Sounds like a great idea.
- “I want this house.” WHY? IT’S FUGLY, AND WOULD COST SO MUCH TO FIX.
Aaaand dead child. The neighbors are right to go “FUCK THAT.”
Okay that transition was kinda cool, I will say that.
AND CUE THE CREEPY DREAM OF THE HOUSE WITH A SKELETON.
- Oh, Romie has had this dream since her childhood. Ooh, is this the house she’s always seen?
So Romie’s brother is gonna help them rebuild the house… I still think this is a stupid idea.
Okay the house doesn’t look too bad renovated now, but WE ALL KNOW THIS WON’T TURN OUT WELL.
Her reaction to her husband hugging her is my reaction to general affection.
And cue the kids hearing creepy noises. Lovely.
- RANDOM CLONE OF THE DAUGHTER IN THE BATHROOM.
- “There’s something weird about this place.” THAT IS PUTTING IT VERY LIGHTLY.
Is there a Gyarados in this house? POKEMON GO ISN’T EVEN A THING YET.
And cue the creepy smoky face staring at Romie as she’s in bed. That’s not ominous at all.
And this old man just suddenly knows there’s a dark spirit in Romie’s house. Welp, here we go fuckin’ go.
- A gateway in Romie’s house. Lovely!
And Romie gets dragged out of bed. That’s not terrifying at all.
They all move into the living room. Honestly, I’m kinda waiting for something really bad to go down, cuz so far not much has really occurred.
“The man in black?” Excuse me. OH HELL NO.
Very protective mother. I actually am kinda rooting for her. So far no one has done anything horrifically stupid like usual.
And cue the strange teeth marks on Romie’s arm. Thaaaaat’s disgusting.
Elderly aunt who’s been hospitalized? That’s the first she’s been mentioned. Okay then.
- And she died right there. My heart.
YAY, EXPOSITIONAL NEIGHBORS.
- So a teenager shot himself. That’s… fucked up. And then the father hung himself.
And Fernando sees something creepy, but we can’t see it. I actually kinda like that most of the time, cuz it leaves what was there up to the imagination.
We all know blessings never work. Give it time, this thing will be back, and nastier than before.
- Nothing really happens, but Romie hears some creepy voice whispering her name. Lovely.
Years pass, and things seem fine. Romie’s even a grandma now. WOO.
- But somethin’ gonna go wrong, mark my words.
Michael? OH HELL NO. MICHAEL, FUCK THE FUCK OFF AND LEAVE THE ADORABLE CHILD ALONE.
- Cue the creepy-ass hand from the closet. Oh hell no.
- NO. THEY PUSHED HIM DOWN THE STAIRS, HOW DARE THEY.
Cue the paranormal investigators.
- “Him”? I’m assuming she means Michael / the man in black.
- Wow, very sassy dark spirit.
I still find it odd we haven’t seen this dark figure ourselves? Unless they mean that wisp, but that’s not a guy in black.
So the spirit portals are in this house. YO, KORRA, THE FUCK DID YOU DO?
I still find it odd that the paranormal researchers are given Dutch angles in their interviews. Like… why?
So the entity isn’t a ghost, but… something else? Is it a poltergeist? Demon? The fuck is up?
This thing can follow the paranormal researchers outta the house… okay, that’s a demon. Fuck the evil shadow.
- “Get out of my house.” If only it was that simple.
What man in black? It’s a cloud.
Oh, nevermind, it’s a poltergeist created by Romie.
Okay, so there was something paranormal, but eventually Romie’s powers created a poltergeist? That’s how I’m interpreting it.
CUE THE TITLE DROP.
Well, that ending was abrupt. Oh well. THE LESSON IS THERAPY IS GOOD. Which... actually, that is a really good message. Good job, show. Good job.
