We have a great tribe and a great retreat site, On the one hand we have pretty much all the skill sets covered. On the other hand every year we all get older and suffer all the degradations of aging eyes, hearing, and of things like strength and speed. Younger QUALIFIED recruits are hard to come by. Age isn't just a number. There is a limit to population density as well when it comes to accomodations. We're close to reaching critical mass without building more houses so we have to be very careful about how many more members we can take on. We could feed more but housing becomes an issue. We're considering restricting new members to those ho have motor homes or camper trailers. When I started this, I never considered the possibility that it would grow as it did and now that lack of foresight has caught up with me. The other weakness is I'm uncomfortable about how much distance some members would have to travel. They're required to have EMP proof vehicles but still, that's going to be a dangerous drive after SHTF. We have comms set up for a possible rescue operation but then there's Murphy's Law. Our corpsman is local but our doctor iasn't . Our Marines and cops are local but the guys with the most and best gear aren't. I also never thought that it would take so long for things to fall apart so I didn't consider the aging process. God is provident and in control, not me. Pray for the best and prepare for the worse.
