Anime Herald Financial Report For Fiscal Quarter 2, 2026 (Ending 6/30/2025)

Introduction

As part of our efforts to maintain full transparency within our operation, it has been decided that every quarter, the chief officer of Anime Herald, LLC must compile a quarterly report detailing our financial results.

This document outlines our organization’s finances, as well as an evaluation of our performance over Quarter 2 of our 2026 fiscal year, which ended on June 30, 2025.

Notes:

Current Finances

As of June 30, 2025, Anime Herald has $4,546.47 in total cash on-hand. Of this, $500 is reserved for articles commissioned and approved, with $250 being held for writers, and $250 for editors.

Income

For our most recent fiscal quarter, Anime Herald reported a total of $1,820.27 (average of $606.75 per month) in total revenues. The breakdown is as follows:

This quarter, we saw an increase in general subscription revenues via Patreon, as well as two large, one-time donations via Ko-fi. We are thankful to our backers, who continue to make it possible for us to keep growing and evolving as a publication.

As an outstanding note: We had also raised $487.27 via Patreon in June. However, due to an error with processing via Stripe, who handles Patreon's payment processing, our June Patreon revenues of $487.27 were not able to be withdrawn until July 5. This, as well as the funding from our annual fundraising drive will be reported in the next quarterly report.

Expenses

Invoices are composed of payments to writers and our editorial team for articles, as well as Samantha’s $50 monthly salary. This quarter, Samantha waived her salary for all three months, as she asked the funding to be used as a buffer for potential overruns on the Anime Herald Magazine release.

As such, Anime Herald posted $845 in invoice payments, which were paid out via the Anime Herald bank account.

In addition, we have been actively paying invoices for Anime Herald Magazine’s articles. These are being paid out-of-pocket by Samantha, and totaled $1,155 for the quarter. While we are recording these, they do not contribute to our bottom line, as they are being paid out-of-pocket.

Infrastructure costs this quarter, which include hosting for the Anime Herald website, was priced at Digital Ocean $62.92 per month, or $188.76, which were paid using Anime Herald’s credit card.

In addition, we maintain an account with Google Workspaces to handle both document sharing and email accounts for the organization. This cost $208.02 ($69.34/month), which was paid for using the Anime Herald bank account.

This quarter saw a new fee, in the form of the Shopify subscription. We were in the trial period for the quarter, so this represented $2.14 total cost.

Miscellaneous Expenses

Anime Herald recorded one category of “Miscellaneous” expenses this quarter. The first is $6.53 in surcharges on incoming PayPal payments.

Other

As part of our annual fundraising drive, Samantha Ferreira made a $750 donation to The Trevor Project on June 30, 2025, matching our first $750 in Patreon and Ko-fi revenues. We are excited to make this donation, as it is the first time we ever reached that milestone.

Totals

For the second quarter of Fiscal 2026, Anime Herald, LLC saw $1,250.45 in total operating costs, paid directly using Anime Herald’s accounts.

Against earnings of $1,820.27, Anime Herald recorded a total profit of $569.82 for the quarter.

(As a note: after placing our funds from Anime Herald Magazine sales into reserve for printing and layout costs, we saw a shortfall of $345.64, which rested entirely on the aforementioned Stripe error. Had this not occurred, we would have shown a profit of $141.63 with the Anime Herald Magazine revenues reserved.)

This is, to speak plainly, Anime Herald’s best quarter ever. While we are looking at next quarter’s numbers before making adjustments, we are actively evaluating what our next steps should be regarding potential rate increases and/or additional article funding.

With this in mind, we remain pragmatic, and are keeping our break-even goal at $500 for this quarter, which grants us roughly $61.24 per month (according to annual calculations) as a buffer.

Our next fiscal report will be due on October 31, 2025.
