Heavily agree on the suburban suspicion lol. I swear some suburban folks just have a nose for anything that is even SLIGHTLY "abnormal". It's very much like perpetually being in high school. I also appreciate what you said about training yourself not to care. I feel like I've made very big strides in desensitizing myself to embarrassment (for better or worse) but that fear of "someone is mad at me" is still VERY strong.
