Thereโs a lot of nouveau riche Chinese tourists not just Japan but also in Europe. They love to spend. Some are resellers, taking advantage of the tax free then resell back in China. Saw a Chinese guy one time in Matsumoto Kiyoshi buying at least 20 pieces of Shiseido Ultimune serum. This serum is very popular in Asia and very expensive on import.

2025-11-18 14:37:37 +0000 UTCI was in Osaka in June/July 2025. A lot of Chinese tourists, my impression they cater to them in Osaka. Just cuz they like to Shop and spend money. On the other end. Some are Rude. Both experiences in Tokyo and Osaka. Just saying as an American.
