I picture them in the parlour just before midnight, adorning beautiful wrists of beautiful babes as they struggle to make themselves useful. Maybe they’re in skimpy lingerie and they can’t fix the straps that keep falling down their shoulders. Maybe they’re getting red in the face as I berate them for being unable to fetch me a glass of prosecco, maybe they get flustered and spill on themselves as they make sloppy attempts. Maybe they’re nude and can’t hide themselves from me. Maybe they’re attached to another guests’ wrist by this cute little bow. Whatever the scenario, I like it.

So I bought one in black, and one in red. A gift to myself all these years later. A reminder that I know what I like, and there’s no shame in it, and there are plenty of people out there who might like what I like too. People who are turned on at the thought. Even people who might like me enough to indulge this ridiculous desire regardless of their own aesthetic. I can’t wait for the next slumber party where I can put them to good use and we can admire the gorgeous useless beauties with their big leather bows. (And yes, you’ll get to see the pictures. 😏)
