Dev Update (31/08/2025)

Hi!

Here's another dev update as we go towards September and few topics related to that final demo.

First of all the early access trailer production is going really well. I attached a small behind-the-scenes video clip from the music production and there's all kinds of other things like custom voice acting and specific "surprise features" made for that trailer.

This early access trailer will be one of the most important selling points for the game (on top of the demos) since it will be featured in so many places. It has been quite crucial for me to plan these trailer things way before hand, so that trailer becomes highly polished and well thought out.

Then when it comes to that "final demo", I have now quite clear plan what will be included and what will be stored for the early access. I will share a "feature list" of these probably next week.

I will mostly likely going to have to combine the next devlog and final demo release video together somehow (like briefly mentioned few posts ago), so I maximize the development / bug fixing time for that final demo.

I have also considered an approach where I would release the final demo slightly before the Next Fest happens since that way I could potentially found out and fix these "lurking bugs" from the new systems, before the majority of Next Fest audience finds the demo.

In other words if the Next Fest starts at Oct. 13, I could potentially release the final demo like last day of September and that would give around ~2 weeks of "high-response" bug fixing time when there would be more people finding those bugs, since it's currently one of the main limitation for a solo-dev to test all these edge-cases etc.

Thanks for supporting and excited to soon hear your thoughts about all these new features with that final demo :)

We have a saying here in germany, four eyes will see more than two, so in this case there will be alot more eyes looking for bugs and finding those in corners you may not think about.

Happy to test anything and report bugs. Was checking the dev build for apartment’s again today and I just cannot wait to dive in with something new.

The amount of bugs at this stage doesn't effect the early access timeline, it's more related to the final demo. Actually these demos are quite good "polishers" for the early access in general and that's one reason also why I wanted to have this final demo demo, so I find as much bugs now as possible rather than have those as a "surprise bugs" in early access. So the timeline that I'm visioning for the early access launch is still the same and mostly just related to map production and how much time that takes to make the rest of the required maps :)

If releasing the demo earlier means I get my hands on it earlier, I'm all for it, bugs or no bugs! Has the high volume of bugs encountered shifted your internal timeline when it comes to the early access release?

Would love to give it a go and report any bugs

Yea it could potentially be a win-win, even though there's a risk that it might be quite rough experience if I reduce two weeks of my personal testing and bug fixing from the timeline, but in other hand it would probably produce better end result before the Next Fest if I have more people finding those bugs and I manage to fix most of those before the event happens :)

Would love to see the final demo drop earlier. Think it is a good thing for both sides, you and us.
