なんだか怒涛の５日間でした。笑

Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture - Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture - Takachiho Cho, Miyazaki Prefecture.

This is a record of my trip of about 5 days.

I moved around, went to hot springs, ate, and moved around.

It was kind of a raging 5 days.

I hope it will be of some help to you on your trip.

福岡県〜熊本県へ入り、熊本城に到着しました！🏯

I entered Kumamoto Prefecture from Fukuoka Prefecture and arrived at Kumamoto Castle!

観覧時間を過ぎていたため、遠くからしか見れませんでしたが、とても存在感のあるお城でした。

熊本地震の影響で所々石垣が崩れており、被害の大きさをあらためて実感しました。

次の目的地の人吉市に向かう途中、海沿いの温泉を見つけたので入浴♨️

It was after viewing time, so I could only see the castle from a distance, but it had a very strong presence.

The stone walls had collapsed in places due to the Kumamoto earthquake, and I realized once again the extent of the damage.

On the way to my next destination, Hitoyoshi City, I found a hot spring by the sea and took a bath. ♨️

御立岬温泉センター。

400円で入浴でき、露天風呂からは目の前の海を眺めることができました。

Cape Mitate Onsen Center.

The bathing fee was 400 yen, and the open-air bath offered a view of the ocean in front of us.

温泉後は腹ごしらえ。道の駅竜北でお惣菜を買ってランチ。

ここのお惣菜がどれも美味しそうで、大量買いしてしまいました。

とっても美味しかったです！

After the hot spring bath, I had to eat. I bought some side dishes for lunch at the Ryukoku Roadside Station.

All the side dishes here looked so good that I bought a lot of them.

They were very tasty!

人吉市に到着。

熊本県人吉市は令和2年7月の豪雨により球磨川が氾濫し、被害を受けた場所です。

元々あった線路も無くなっていました。

毎年7月上旬あたりの九州地方は大雨災害がとても多く、今年も豪雨が続いていたようです😢

Arrival at Hitoyoshi City.

Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, was damaged when the Kuma River overflowed due to torrential rains in July 2020.

The railroad tracks that were originally there are now gone.

Every year around the beginning of July, there are many heavy rain disasters in the Kyushu region, and it seems that the torrential rains continued this year as well 😢.

人吉市には多くの温泉があります。

今回は、炭酸泉で人気の華まき温泉に行ってきました♨️

細かい炭酸泡が時間をかけて全身を包み、幸せな気分になれます。

オーナーさん曰く、全国から温泉ファンがリピートする人気の温泉だそうです。

確かにここはハマる。

Hitoyoshi City has many hot springs.

This time, I visited Hanamaki Onsen, a popular carbonic acid spring. ♨️

The fine carbonated bubbles take time to envelop your entire body, making you feel happy.

According to the owner, this is a popular hot spring that hot spring fans from all over Japan keep coming back to.

I am certainly addicted to this place.

道の駅人吉にて立派な鯉のぼりを発見！

翌日、鹿児島県に入りました！

I found a magnificent carp streamer at Hitoyoshi Roadside Station!

The next day, I entered Kagoshima Prefecture!

栗野岳八幡大地獄にて地獄が見れるということで行ってみました。

入り口に西郷隆盛を発見。

I went to Kurinodake Hachiman Daigoku because I could see hell.

I found Takamori Saigo at the entrance.

※Takamori Saigo is a historical figure in Japan.

同じ場所に栗野岳温泉があり、現在は工事中のため入浴できませんでした。

復活したら是非行ってみたいです！

There is a Kurinodake hot spring at the same location, which is currently under construction, so I could not bathe there.

I would like to visit there when it is restored!

地獄発見！

硫黄の香りが漂い、大きな白い煙が所々で立ち上っています。

風とともに大きな煙が押し寄せ、地獄の中に入ったような気分になりました。

Hell is discovered!

The smell of sulfur was in the air and big white smoke was rising in many places.

The big smoke rushed in with the wind, and I felt as if I had entered hell.

栗野岳八幡大地獄から車で３０分ほど下ると、霧島温泉に着きます。

霧島温泉最古の岩風呂と呼ばれる「目の湯」を目指します。

After a 30-minute drive down from Kurinodake Hachiman Daigoku Jigoku, you will arrive at Kirishima Onsen.

We will aim at the "hot water of the eye" which is called the oldest rock bath in Kirishima Onsen.

自然の中にポツンとある天然の露天岩風呂。

底から熱いお湯が自噴おり、

お湯の色は無色透明ですが、混ぜると白濁とした色に変わります。

A natural open-air rock bath located in the middle of nature.

Hot water gushes out from the bottom of the bath, and the color of the water is clear and colorless, but it changes to a cloudy white color when mixed.

混ぜた色はこんな感じ。

お湯は体感で50℃以上あり、10秒入るのが精一杯でした😂

時期によって36℃～59℃ほど温度が変わるそうです。

The color of the mixture looks like this.

The water was more than 50°C by feel, and I could only get in for 10 seconds 😂.

The temperature is said to vary from 36°C to 59°C depending on the time of year.

夜は、同じく霧島市にあるラムネ温泉 千寿の里温泉に入りました。♨️

夜８時まで営業しており、助かりました。

手作り感のある造りで、自炊ができる宿泊棟やランドリースペースもあり、長期滞在にもぴったりです。

In the evening, I went to Ramune Onsen Senju no Sato Onsen, also in Kirishima City. ♨️

It was open until 8 pm, which was helpful.

It has a handmade feel, with an accommodation building where you can cook your own meals and a laundry space, making it perfect for a long stay.

内湯は、脱衣所から仕切りなしにつながったレトロなスタイル。

どこか懐かしいような、新しいような、湯治場らしい雰囲気があります。

気持ちよかったです♪

The indoor bath is a retro style connected to the changing room without any partitions.

It has a somewhat nostalgic, yet new, atmosphere typical of a therapeutic bathhouse.

It was nice.

翌日、坂本龍馬が新婚旅行で訪れた際、逗留したという塩浸温泉を発見。

近くに野湯があるということで行ってみました！

The next day, I found Shiomizu Onsen, where Sakamoto Ryoma stayed when he visited on his honeymoon.

I went there because I was told that there was a nearby natural hot spring!

※Ryoma Sakamoto is a historical figure in Japan.

竹林の湯と呼ばれる通り、竹藪の中を進みます。

As it is called "Takebayashi no Yu" (hot spring in bamboo grove), you will proceed through the bamboo thicket.

竹藪を抜けると、沸々と湧く温泉を発見！

After passing through the bamboo thicket, I found a boiling hot spring!

見事な絶景が広がっていました。

こんなに美しい光景は今までにみたことがなく、

私にとって旅をした中でも衝撃を受けた場所の一つです。

The view was spectacular.

I had never seen such a beautiful sight before, and it was one of the most shocking places I had visited in my travels.

自然と一体になった気がして最高に気持ちよかったです。

It was a great feeling to feel at one with nature.

夜は、桜島が見える海辺のキャンプ場に泊まりました。

At night, I stayed at a seaside campground with a view of Sakurajima.

翌朝、鹿児島ラーメンを食べて宮崎県を目指します！

鹿児島ラーメンは見た目よりあっさりしていて食べやすかったです。

The next morning, I will eat Kagoshima ramen and continue on to Miyazaki Prefecture!

Kagoshima ramen was lighter and easier to eat than it looked.

宮崎県に突入！

宮崎といえば全国屈指のサーフスポット。

海側は温泉の数が少なく、国道から近くにあった「かどかわ温泉心の杜」へ寄りました♨️

中は地元の方々で賑わっていました。

Enter Miyazaki Prefecture!

Miyazaki is one of the best surfing spots in Japan.

There are not many hot springs on the ocean side, so we stopped by "Kadokawa Onsen Kokoro no Mori" which was close to the national highway: ♨️

It was crowded with locals.

翌日、日本神話ゆかりの地と言われる宮崎県高千穂町へ向かいました。

高千穂町はパワースポットや綺麗な自然が多くあると人気の地です。

The next day, I headed to Takachiho Town in Miyazaki Prefecture, which is said to be a place associated with Japanese mythology.

Takachiho Town is popular for its many power spots and beautiful nature.

道の駅高千穂に巨大なお顔を発見。

神話の天の岩戸開きに登場される神様の顔だそうです。

A huge face was found at Takachiho Roadside Station.

It is said to be the face of the god who appeared at the opening of the Iwato of Heaven in mythology.

高千穂町にある天岩戸神社に行ってきました。

天岩戸神社は、天照大神のお隠れになった天岩戸と呼ばれる洞窟を御神体として祀られている神社です。

I visited Ama-no-Iwato Shrine in Takachiho Town.

Ama-no-Iwato Shrine is enshrined in a cave called Ama-no-Iwato, where Amaterasu hid herself.

天地暗黒となり八百万の神がこの河原に集まり神議されたと伝えられる大洞窟。

周囲には数えきれないほどの積み石があります。

It is said that when heaven and earth became dark, eight million gods gathered on this riverbank to discuss the gods.

The cave is surrounded by countless piles of stones.

石積みをして願い事をすると願いが叶うといわれており、祈願を行う人たちの手によって石が積まれていくようになったそうです。

私も石を積みたかったけど、積む石が見つからないほど、ぎっしり石積みされていました。

It is said that if you make a wish by piling up stones, your wish will come true, and the stones were piled up by people who prayed.

I wanted to pile up stones, but there were so many that I could not find any.

平和が続きますように。May peace continue.

今回も平和でいい旅ができました。

次は大分県別府へ向かいます♨️
