It's easier to distinguish the characters if they have characteristics, as Ramza challenges the enemy's base and many beautiful women appear. Even though the main character Ramza is betrayed by Eldrus, he forgives him, but he actually sees through his true nature and has the strength to rise again and again, which I think is cool. Maybe the same as the author.
