After watching Only Fools and Fawlty Towers the discussion about having a gay son is the one that offended you?

This is his reaction channel that you are on. If you don't like it or him being woke then i suggest you do one and watch whatever you want, rather than being such a snowflake twat

Haha. You're upset with King Boomer for the way he reacts to a programme.

Just think of this programme like Only Fools And Horses. Itโs a mix of comedy and pathos.

That might have something to do with the record amount of extra people we've imported to our tiny island ๐ค 15 million more people over the last few decades and another extra 15 million estimated people by 2080... I'm actually thinking of giving up my car because it's pointless driving in the UK, you get nowhere slowly!

It's not even Tampa to Miami in a straight line. I recently saw from Steve and Lindsey reacting to "Know your ally" (a WWII video) that the UK is only a bit bigger than Idaho (even without Scotland).

Nessa is absolutely the star of the show (and also the co-writer!) Cracking up this episode at '...but I don't need another whip' and the Tattoos in Arabic as a wedding gift. She delivers the most bizarre lines with a perfect straight face

Can't speak for everywhere as it's a uniquely busy place, but driving 5 miles in London can take the same as 50 anywhere else.

Re james Corden. The hate is getting tiresome. Yeah he's probably a prick. But people who call him talentless are clueless. Hes won a Tony award which is the oscar of theatre. Anyone who is in theatre is a proper actor. People loved his stuff until the stories came out.

The problem you have with the gay comment is the joke ๐ the joke is about the use of the stereotype rather than the joke being the comment itself because itโs patently ridiculous
Youโre getting there with the British humour KB, always got to consider thereโs probably another layer to it unlike a lot of US comedy

In terms of driving time itโs about 4 hours - similar to driving from Tampa to Tallahassee
Although its smaller the driving experience in the UK very different to the US, and many American visitors who think theyโll be fine driving long distances because it looks the same on the map find that theyโre exhausted after a couple of hours or so because you have to concentrate much more - roads and lanes are smaller, traffic is much closer and quicker - and has the same density as the population - and roads are often much windier, even compared to areas considered to have winding roads in the US

Just checked Billericay to Barry on the AA's route planner. 206 miles, 3 hours and 50 minutes. First, you'd head for approx 9 miles for the M25 London orbital motorway, and then head round the northern part of the M25 until you were close to Heathrow Airport just to the west of London. Then you join the M4 London to Swansea motorway all the way to the Cardiff area, where you turn off for Barry, which is about 9 miles from the M4, to the south-west of Cardiff. I thought the journey time might be a bit less but once in south Wales, the M4 does have a mixture of variable and permanent speed limits, meaning that, even if the roads are clear , you can't always do the 70 miles per hour that's allowed, with a few exceptions , on the M4 across southern England. I think that the M4 on the Severn Crossing bridge and causeways may have a 60 mph speed limit. Also roadworks and delays , and the slower non-motorway roads, could all be factors. ๐.

Apparently Florida is half the size of the UK, so that might help you visualize the driving distance. Although, Essex to Barry is a lot shorter., about 200 miles, give or take.

The milk moustaches is bleaching cream, to make the hairs lighter and less visible. Hence the joke that Nessa needs hers on for much longer when Stacey says โitโs gonna be a while yetโ ๐

My wife borrowed the gavin and Stacey box set from a friend. I reluctantly watched it with her, joking about her bad taste in TV.
Only for me to really warm to the characters and watch every episode.
Itโs not mean spirited or nasty. Thereโs no character that you should โhateโ.
In the next season there is a character that in other sitcoms would be written as the bad guy. But they donโt do that in G&S heโs still a decent bloke.

The big girl is Nessa (the co-writer Ruth Jones). 4 episodes in and you can't remember her name??? The vicar was played by William Thomas who you would have seen as the dodgy Bryn Cartwright in the Twin Town movie and short appearance as the barman in Only Fools and Horses when Del fell through the bar (Yuppy Love). The journey from Barry, South Wales to Billericay, Essex is approx. 3hr 45 min by road (207 miles) on a clear road (not during rush hours). The milk moustache is hair removal cream/wax or more likely hair bleaching.

England may be smaller but we are much more crammed. Like a tin or sardines, every town is tightly packed so it could literally take 2 hours just to move 2 centimeters on the map.

Some of the camera shot choices are bizarre (in a good way) in this. The Jaws style zoom when Nessa is talking about the lad from Peru was surreal.

Miss West and Mr. Shipman crack me up. The characters are named after Rose West and Harold Shipman, two of the most depraved and prolific serial killers from the UK. It does come up a couple of times throughout the show.
