In many countries even the police donβt carry guns. Theyβre taught de-escalation techniques and trained extensively. Guns are meant to be a last resort for only the most extreme situations, typical walking officers will only carry a baton or something for subduing. Japan in particular is extremely hardcore about restricting all weapons, not just guns. A bat or something is probably best case scenario tbh
