This dev log is later than I normally put them out because there isn’t much to report on at the moment. Let’s start with why there’s not much to report on at the moment.

The GUI overhaul will be completed for the next update, which is very exciting! But the team working on the GUI design is currently working in my code, meaning I haven’t actually been able to do anything in it since the last update. That being said they should be wrapping up soon and I will be able to get back to work!

This coming update will see the conclusion of the introduction! Hooray! It will also feature one new scene as has been the case so far and the sprites that are needed to finish the plot for it. It’s very exciting as we’re approaching the actual gameplay mechanics stage. This does come with some bad news though! Once the intro concludes there will be some extra time before the next release, at least 2 months but possibly more.

During this time we will be finalizing sprites and other art assets we had previously skipped over in order to get the introduction concluded. I will also be returning and expanding the intro to include more choices and characters that we haven’t previously seen.

The main bulk of the work will be spent in making the code for the gameplay mechanics that will be used for the rest of the game and giving my artist time to catch up.

There is some good news in all of this though! Once the update after the conclusion of the introduction comes out (two updates from now) we will be putting out 4-6 new CG’s with each subsequent update instead of just the one! We had only been doing one CG per update as our main focus was on sprite creation.

This dev log and the next couple going forward will be free for the public to view so that everyone is in the loop about the change in update schedule and no one is worried the project has been abandoned!

I can’t wait to get into the game for the first time for real and let everyone explore the world that I have created! Thank you to everyone who has already shown their support!
