How to install Stable Difussion WebUI?

In this guide you will learn how to install and run Stable Diffusion in 10 minutes or less in a simple way to generate your own images using artificial intelligence. Specifically, we will use Google Colab’s cloud service, so we don’t need powerful hardware to make it work. What are the requirements to install SD?

• A Google account That's all :D In this guide we will be using the following Colab Nocript. Make a basic configuration of Colab Everything I describe in this step is NOT necessary for you to do, but they are my recommendations. First Configuration: Save Images and configurations in GDrive.

Normally these 2 options you will always want them activated, because they will save all the configurations and much more important All the images that we generate will be automatically saved in our GDrive, when we run the cell it will ask us permission to make changes in our Google Drive, it is important to give permissions.

Second Configuration: Download ControlNet Models (For advanced users)

Here we are going to download a series of models for the ControlNet extension.

If you were left with the doubts of what the rest of the configurations are for you can read the Documentation of this colab to have a deeper knowledge of what each option does, in this guide I only tell you the basic one that you must or I recommend to have.

Third Step: Choose one or more Models/Checkpoint that you like

Here is where it gets really interesting, there are plenty of models that you can use to generate your images, the ones I recommend or use do not have to be the best or the ones that you will like/meet your needs.

You can find a great variety of models in CivitAI as "Checkpoints", look for one that fulfills what you want to create, if you like NSFW content or on the contrary you don't want it, if you want a model more specialized in architecture, realistic faces or backgrounds... there is a lot to choose from.

Take your time to look for the model or models that you like the most, in the following step we will see how to install them in a very simple way.

Small comparison between some Anime style models

Fourth Step: Custom Urls

Very well, now for this point you should have at least 1 or 2 models that you want to try, but now how do you install them in the Colab?

Well, there is no single answer to that question, so I am going to detail each option.

First Choice

It is the easiest of all, in the Colab already come several models that we can install just by activating them, as is the case of the anything-v4.5 model to mention some, just select one of the following and you have everything ready!

Second Option

If your model that you want to test does not appear in the previous list, what you should do is in the custom_urls part add the Direct download link to your model. For example if you like the AbyssOrangeMix3 model (I will be using this model for the rest of the guide), copy its direct download link like this

In the case of CivitAI links, it is done in more or less the same way

Ok, you have your direct download link, now what?

Very simple, just paste it inside custom_urls

Once you have all the links, when the cell is executed, the colab will download all the models, LoRas and in general everything that is in that link (the download will be quite fast regardless of your internet).

Step Five: Download a VAE

The VAE is very important for our images, it manages everything that is the coloration of our image, if we do not use one the images will be very faded and poorly defined...there are models that already have a VAE included as is the case of Anything V4.5.

But if our model does not have it included it is important to download one. We can choose one of the default ones that comes with the colab to install.

My recommendation is to go for blessed2_vae, but try the one you like the best.

Sixth and Final Step: Execute the first cell of the Colab.

Once we have all the configuration ready, we are going to click on the first cell of the colab, this will install and download everything we need, this cell should stay running all the time we are using SD.

After it installs everything it will leave us a "public link" which we must enter allowing us to enter the interface!

Now we have SD installed (the interface may be a little different).

This colab already has all the basic configurations installed, just remember to select your model and VAE you want to use
