Village of Noobtown in German

Hello my German speaking fans.  I was approached by a translation service to get a German copy of Noobtown.  They sent me a sample chapter.  I don't speak German.

But I figure someone does, so here is a copy of the PDF.  Anyone who can read German, please give it a glance and tell me if it still holds up in German!

Thx, I appreciate that.

Well, first of all it is fun to read and the translator seems to know what he/she is doing. There are a few typos but nothing too bad. It just needs some proof-reading for us overly pedantic Germans. ;-) As always with translations, it sometimes feels forced or just does not feel the same as the original. Like Shart's name 'Schurz', which is an exact translation (Shit+Fart=Shart, Scheisse+Furz=Schurz) but just sounds a bit weird. I did not read it next to the english original but I think the translator stayed pretty close to the original wording which is good in principle but sometimes makes you stumble over it or makes it sound a bit pretentious or overly formal. But that is a general thing, especially for texts with a lot of wordplay. I at least would not know how to do it better. To summarize: I think the translator did a good job but it is tough to reproduce the look-and-feel of your original writing. :-) But it is a great idea to make the Noob-World accessible to a larger audience. :-) Thanks for all the laughs!
