My boyfriend, (before he was my boyfriend) nearly got car jacked by a group of hitchhikers, then almost subsequently killer one of the hitchhikers. I got a ruptured eardrum. 😢

I quick study suggests that hitchhikers are far less likely to commit the physical violence. It also suggests that it is far less dangerous to hitchhike than one would think. Only 500 reported cases of hitchhiking death in US from 1979 to 2015.
If you think about it logically.....
The premeditation would most likely lye with the driver who could cruise for a victim. Hitchhiking wouldn’t be a great way to canvas for a victim unless you where very indiscriminate and random. If you want to find the predator look for the power position I say. The driver is more dominant and more in a position to select.
